He suggested to Einstein that space-time would be composed of five dimensions while Einstein was stating that space-time would be four dimensional.
Einstein said that normal space is three dimensional. That is typically expressed in mathematics as X, Y and Z.
Then one more dimension should be added. “Time”.
One day, one mathematician whose name was not so known well among academics at that time sent a short thesis to Einstein. There being described was general relativity based on not 4 dimensions but 5 dimensions that happened to reach Maxwellian equations for electromagnetism.
Einstein then encouraged him to publish the theory which later is developed into Kaluza–Klein theory. Klein is a Swedish theoretical physicist. They developed the theory.
Yes, at that time, Gravity was getting closer to Electro-Magnetism.
But, it was like small fire suddenly blight burned but then disappeared somehow. Instead, being left was excitement among academics seeking quantum mechanics. Until theory of string emerges, the idea of adding further dimension had been in hibernation.
Now a days, physics is quite a complicating thing but it also looks (to me) that physics has come to a deadlock. May be here the present being required is an idea, innovative and not deeply be “contaminated” one.
Like The Laws of Thought by George Boole, which now is the fundamental of computerized system, some ideas quietly and modestly alive may finally be of salvation to modern physics.
Today, my story is quite fell short of in terms of both length and consideration thus if someone who is professional in the field of physics read this, please just leave me as I am. I am just an innocent science-fiction-loving ordinally middle aged man.
Finally, I have to leave here a short statement for Ukrainian people. Although nobody could stop it, we have to at least continue thinking of the way that can eliminate any form of war. At least we can say that some persons who are taking the situation seriously have started thinking of how to create peaceful world.
In the book, found in its afterword is a short comment on human being by Mr. Lorenz, the author of the book. The comment, I can slightly remember but not exactly, states something about concerns over the human being who now posses mass destructive weapon.
He is an ethologist. His concern is, whether human being can control such power of mass destructive weapon like wolves do.
Wolves form a herd and sometimes a young wolf challenges the leader of the herd. But, often the young one is overpowered by the leader. In the final point of the conflict or say the battle between them, the challenging is put to end with the ferocious jaws of the leader freezing at its position posing the finish-bite around the neck of the challenger. The leader anyway never bite the neck.
Losing a member of the herd means losing some extent of capability of hunting a prey. But at the same time, hierarchy should be kept consistently and firmly.
Here then another type of animal. A kind of deer, (I forgot the name ….. ) which does not form herd in wild circumstance. If some of the deer are put in a fenced area, a male starts killing all the other deer including female and fawn with its own horn.
In wild circumstance, the deer are well spread in a wide area keeping distance with others in a way that there is no competition over food. But once the distances are no longer kept in that manner, food competition is inevitable. So reasoned as above is the behavior of the male, in ethological theory.
We human being need others. If we put the above theory of wolves on us then, how the description of Ukraine war can be?
Russian so far have not killed all the Ukrainian people while demonstrating its power. Is this situation the same as the chief of the wolves do?
No, No! No!, never be the same!
OK then, if Russian just had threatened Ukraine by demonstrating huge armed forces assembled ready for war at the border of the countries, would the war not have broken out? Like wolf chief with its jaw poised to bite.
No, No! No! again never!
OK then, Could Russian be allowed to kill Ukrainian completely so that any competitions over something is eliminated, like that story of deer as Mr. Lorenz exemplified?
OK, no more, that’s impossible, me myself, such a fool!
First of all, human being can never be the same as those wild animals. The way, so called war, no more fits to this globalized world. If Mr. Lorenz examined modern human behavior in a way any ethologists do, then he would say, human now have thrown away the method “war”. He would say, killing people by the name of war does not match with wolf’s jaw or deer’s horn.
We human being now has reached an area beyond ethology.
Mr. Lorenz, please tell us how to built a world order that can completely eliminate any form of war. We could not find any clues from your fascinating studies rather are still being in vain.
Today, I still can’t talk about science. How sad the present state is!
Arguments are being exchanged, tangled, and then have not yet been concluded.
Nobody could not stop it. And they say he is criminal because of murder cases there found reportedly. The number of the cases and the way of it matters. They say.
But, hey! Wait!
Normally, whatever the reason is, murder is absolute criminal act. But, the word “war” means murder in the name of a country, I think. Any justification should not be given to it even if it is committed in the name of a country.
Japan also once committed it unfortunately. But, nevertheless now we Japanese are trying to convince the world of how bad war should be, because we have been educated that how bad it had been, not only in classroom but also from society whole and from our parents.
In 21st century, because of wide spread education on history and concepts of modern peaceful and wealthier society, there will be no such things as war, at least in the way that Russians are doing there, ———- at least I have believed so until ——–.
In any case, I am thinking of, in vain though, a possibility of establishing new system that can prevent war from starting so that no casualty is found at all, because —– whenever I start thinking of it, my theory in my mind collapses, facing deadlock always, finally in my mind murmuring “Impossible” silently.
Today, I am writing this in not a manner of someone who seeks idle talk about science topics in a funny way rather am writing this out of necessity. A nine year old girl lost her left hand through shooting by Russian soldiers. Adults on the globe, including me could do nothing and most notably the very person who triggered this atrocity is just another adult.
Any international peace keeping scheme, framework or system, whatsoever does never and will never work. Also it’s too late. Her left hand lost forever. Not only her left hand but also so many lives of Ukraine people have been lost while adults on the globe helplessly watching through information media.
I am also one of the adults. My wife said “We are too weak.”
In human beings, it seems to me that there is a kind of force like that in star wars. If someone has a spirit of absolutely being negative of war then the spirit will be transmitted and spread worldwide even without such things as smartphone and internets. This is such a foolish idea but desperately the only way I can take.
So, here I say, Russian people, your leader is hiding the truth from you. What he is saying about Ukraine is a lie. He is quite afraid of the conscience every human being has in nature. He understand how powerful it can be once it explodes. He knows what he is doing to Ukraine people is wrong from humanitarian point of view. That is the exact reason that he is making tremendous effort to conceal the truth from all of his nations because he knows his nations hold a strong conscience remembering that event in 1991. It is like a vampire being terrified at crucifix.
Fearfulness gets evolved into hate and then grows further toward brutality. So, the only way to stop that cycle is to show him your conscience. He loves his people he needs the true love not from other nations rather from the nation of himself. If, majorities of Russian people say, “please stop it immediately” then he would stop it. Please hold him tightly and tell him with your sprits of conscience.
I am sure that this text message will never reach the Russian people though, I have a belief, however, that human beings are always being connected with a divine force of nature. Therefore, by putting the text on my PC, the energy of sprits are crystalized in my consciousness and maybe it is transmitted somehow, it surely is weak though, if it could trigger the other’s spirit one after the other, I do believe, it will be amplified.
Is it possible? Such a thing, to have scientific view on the dictator.
What is happening in Ukraine now is apparently bad thing in many ways. The issue is not of science though how can we avoid putting our eyes on it rather we definitely are thinking of it. Thus, on this edition, the thought over the issue of that war is being liberated while the objective of this blog is somehow maintained. So, for you who just has happened to start reading this, my apologize, if you don’t mind, please be patient with this one sided context for a while.
Russian people who know the truth, Ukraine people and people of any other countries seem to think of “What a stupide thing those recent events are!”. And maybe many people want to say “Stop him!”.
My colleague who is Polish said “He is crazy”. And he said that his farther is thinking of providing houses for Ukrainian refugees.
In any case, that person, “He” must not be anything other than a dictator.
However, why a single person who is being dictator, and/or his inner circle cannot be stopped? What does allow such a members to exist?
There has been a news article on TV that an institute in USA has started analyzing his psychological state. Probably, some kind of so called criminal profiling is now underway. I understand that criminal profiling is a process of characterizing the criminal with methods of psychology and other several scientific approaches. (Psychology is one of the areas of science, I think.)
In addition to the above, being considered is mass psychology. I mean, this time, the psychological state of people who are ruled by a dictator.
In case that just a few people are doing something wrong, it seems to be enough for us all to ignore the people or to hold them with nelson hold while saying “What you are doing is wrong!” and “We will never do such a thing!”. But in reality, it is not realistic. If I were a Russian, I would be silent even though I knew the truth somehow. Dictator is something of fearful indeed.
It is expected probably that mass psychology is ruled by exponential and therefore once it enters into a loop of proliferation it will be hard to stop it. One’s thought affects other two persons then each of the two persons have an effect on another two persons respectively in the mean time the initial person who started spreading the thought will find the spread of the thought and be encouraged to spread it further again. You see, this is a kind of feedback effect. Once that effect starts, mass psychological state explodes, formulating it firmly.
Long time ago, in Russia (at that time was Soviet), When Gorbachev was still the top leader and Yeltsin had started having been as prominent political figure, in my memory there was an attempt of military coup. (1991.Aug. 19) At that time, Russian people strongly rose opposition and Yeltsin responded. And finally the coup attempt failed.
They say, the dictator now is putting his people under information control. It has been reportedly stated that soldiers were deprived of their smart phones before the military invasion. (Nonetheless, it could also be considered for avoiding leaking of such information as the position of the soldiers etc. through their smart phones.) It somehow possibly looks like he had been contemplating it, before the operation, to eliminate the possibility of the similar event as 1991.Aug. That event which might have been possibly caused by mass psychological phenomena.
A report has been broadcasted that Russians attacked nuclear power plant though the manner of the attack looks avoiding damages on nuclear reactor itself. Anyway, it maybe because of the rational commander chief.
He has recently implied use of nuclear weapon, which suggests that he may think bluntly that “Why not? Using it gives it a status of deterrence”. I have heard of Stalin that there was an episode in which he might have been putting priority on military power than human personality That dictator who is now rampaging over Ukraine may possibly be the same.
Majorities of specialists say; He has been losing his temper thereby stating of nuclear weapon so the state of his mind is dangerous. But, is that really true? It possibly be regarded as carrying out things based on a calculation somehow. It appears that he has known long before that international public opinion will never support his position. So, because of that he has been stating something illogical or inconsistent thing intentionally well, with that other countries have been bewildered while the military operation continues. And then he has been well aware of the importance of taking control over the thought of his own people. He then deprived them of correct information, driving them in a state of neutral by having both sides, opposition and support, coexisted in balance.
Here at this point, if it is possible for us to analyze his psychological state in scientific manner, the above concern can be eased to some extend. For instance, simply considered though, by having AI studied a listing of facts and logical grouping of the facts like the table below (conceptual) may possibly his present state of mind be deeply studied.
If anything that is obtained from this profiling reveals his present state of mind, it may be understood how he can be terminated.

Or not that way, rather even if his state of mind is understood, it may not be reached an idea of how to terminate him. Anyhow, he may be considering that he is being formulated on the very presence of his own people and therefore he is concerned about a state in which opposition against him turns to exponential. And I wonder if it is possible or not to create a society where such things as dictator never emerges fundamentally.
Finally today, having written those miscellaneous things in untidy manner, after all, what matters most extremely is the fact that children in Ukraine have been killed. This should absolutely be stopped immediately, however we are too powerless. How would William Blake who criticized Scientific Materialism say at this situation?
